Debra Fernandez
Debra Fernandez is a dancer, choreographer, and educator whose work has been presented in museums, opera houses, and numerous dance venues, as well as in many productions at the Williamstown Theater Festival.
Debra joined the Skidmore College dance faculty in 1991, served as Chair from 2009 to 2021, and was promoted to Full Professor, holding the David H. Porter Endowed Chair for five years.
Since retiring, she has focused on visual art, particularly collage and mixed media, and has actively sold her work. Additionally, she developed a unique yoga practice tailored for the aging body and teaches classes online. She enjoys helping others uncover their bodies' potential resilience and is equally dedicated to her own ongoing spiritual growth.
